Chocolate Lightning Tomato Seed

Developed by the members of the Dwarf Tomato Project from a cross between Dwarf Wild Fred and Beauty King made by Vince Lavallo and named Beauty. It was selected and named by Vince Lavallo. Stabilization was the collaborative work of Robin Bort, Susan Oliverson, Lisa Moore, Patrick Sullivan, Bill Yoder, Roberto Caro del Castillo, Desire Sommers, Jenna D’Amore, and Craig LeHoullier. The starting seed sample was grown out and supplied by Bill Minkey of Darien, Wisconsin in 2014.
Introduced commercially by Victory Seed Company in 2015. More information about the development of this cultivar can be found on the Dwarf Tomato Project website. Indeterminate dwarf (‘tree-type’) plants with rugose regular leaf foliage produce, medium-sized, chocolate-brown, oblate slicers with jagged green and gold stripes. The rich crimson flesh has the intense and balanced flavour.
